WOWW..

Matawang USD tue. Bukannya ringgit Malaysia. Tapi USD. Bapak gila kaya malaon neh.

Jho Low, Malaysia’s controversial businessman in the centre of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal has been identified as the purchaser of a multi-million US dollar painting from a highly-acclaimed French painter.
Usually a closely guarded secret, news about Low’s purchase came from two sources familiar with his activities in the art world. The painting in question, one by Jean-Michel Basquiat, called Dustheads from 1982, was bought by Low for a staggering US$48.8 million in May 2013 at Christie’s New York, Artnet News quoted the New York Times as saying. One of the sources reported said, “Inserting a Jho Low at the top of the market—who buys pictures over $20 million, $30 million, $40 million—it swings the market.”

Low however, when asked if his family owned the work, merely said he “did not purchase ‘Dustheads’ artwork on behalf of any investor”, much the same reply he gave when asked about the purchase of a penthouse in Time Warner Centre that he snapped up for US$30.55 million.
Dustheads was described by Artnet News as a “heavily worked painting” of two panic-stricken, bugged-eyed individuals against a black background. The painting is said to illustrate the effects of PCP, the street name of which is Angel Dust, hence the title of the painting. -FMT.
